INVISALIGN® ONBOARDING

INFORMATION FOR NEW PATIENTS WHO ARE STARTING INVISALIGN® TREATMENT

At Holbert Family Orthodontics, we’re here to help guide you through your Invisalign® journey and Invisalign onboarding so you can achieve a beautiful, healthy smile. We’re excited to share our new video with you as you start or have recently started your Invisalign treatment. This video will help explain what to expect and provide tips when Invisalign onboarding.

FOLLOW THESE STEPS FOR INVISALIGN ONBOARDING

Are you ready to get started? Follow the instructions below for your Invisalign onboarding. You’re just one step closer to achieving your beautiful, dream smile!

Let’s get started! To begin your Invisalign Onboarding, take out the starter kit Dr. Holbert gave you, and your new Invisalign® aligners.

To insert your new aligners, follow the instructions from Dr. Holbert. To start, gently push your aligner on top of your teeth. Make sure to equally press down on both the front and back of the aligner until it snaps onto your teeth. Start by gently pushing one aligner over your front teeth and apply equal pressure with your fingertips to the front and back until it snaps into place. Your teeth will begin to move as soon as your aligners are in, so you may feel discomfort or pressure at the beginning of each aligner change, especially in the early stages of your treatment. Since your teeth will get used to moving in a couple of days, your discomfort should go away in no time.

You may have little tooth colored material attached to your teeth, called “attachments.” These give your aligners something to gently grip, so your teeth move with the right amount of force. They also help make complex movements possible.

The best way to clean your aligners is with a soft toothbrush, toothpaste and warm water.

With Invisalign treatment you can live your life without any interruptions or compromises, so you can do what you want and eat what you want!

Financial arrangements can be made based on your estimated insurance benefit; however, any outstanding insurance claims not paid are the responsibility of the patient or the patient’s family.

So that your aligners don’t get stained, be sure to take them off before you eat or drink anything but water. Always brush and floss your teeth then rinse and dry your aligners before putting them back in.

This is a common question for Invisalign® onboarding. When it comes to your new aligners, you may have a short adjustment period, around a couple of days, to get used to them. During the adjustment period, you may find that your speech is affected. However, your mouth will quickly get used to them.

You have no food restrictions when undergoing treatment! This means you can enjoy whatever you want—as long as you take your aligners out. If you drink anything other than water, make sure you take your aligners out, rinse them and brush your teeth before putting them back in.

Yes! One of the benefits of Invisalign®  is that you can remove them for short special occasions—such as having your picture taken. Just remember that you need to wear your aligners for at least 22 hours a day in order for treatment to be effective.
